Secondary: Minkah Fitzpatrick, Joe Haden, Terrell Edmunds, Cameron Sutton, James Pierre, Antoine Brooks Jr., Justin Layne, Shakur Brown

The secondary is going to be challenging to predict this year. The top four players are pretty easy to lockdown, as Minkah Fitzpatrick and Terrell Edmunds will be our starting safeties with Joe Haden and Cameron Sutton as the top two cornerbacks. After that, it gets a little bit more difficult.

Though he has just 27 regular-season defensive snaps, I would assume that James Pierre is pretty much a roster lock at this point after gaining favor with the team late in the season. I also have Justin Layne making the roster, even with his recent offseason arrest. With Jordan Dangerfield no longer around, I have Antoine Brooks Jr.s making the team as the only backup safety this year.

The final cornerback spot may be the hardest to predict on the entire roster. Veteran Trevor Williams dressed for just 4 total games over the past two seasons on two different teams. Though he has starting experience in the past, I have him just missing the cut. The Steelers spent a seventh-round draft choice on Oklahoma’s Tre Norwood, but they also signed two undrafted free-agent rookies.

I’m taking a shot in the dark, but I have them going with Shakur Brown for my final cornerback spot. He’s not a great athlete, but many had him pegged as a fourth-round prospect this year and he’s coming off a 5-interception season at Michigan State.
