Henry Mondeaux, Defensive Linemen

The entire bottom part of the defensive line will be having a giant competition for the last spots on the final roster. The Steelers traded away a fourth-round selection next year to draft Isaiahh Loudermilk out of Wisconsin. He was projected to go lower in the draft but the black and gold saw something in this player. He has a great frame that the team hopes to turn into a special player down the line.

You do not give up a future fourth-round selection for a guy that won’t make the team. This means potentially scary times for some players ahead, one of those being Henry Mondeaux. He got some decent playing time last season and showed some flashes with his opportunity. Even though he showed flashes, his time in the Steel City might be cut short after that selection.

Other players like Isaiah Buggs and Carlos Davis should be concerned by this pick. Loudermilk provides position flexibility for the team. Bringing back veterans like Tyson Alualu and Chris Wormley spells disaster for these bottom-of-the roster players as well. They will all likely be released when the time comes because there is simply no room for them. They will have to stand out so Pittsburgh releases their fifth-round selection or other veteran players searching for that final spot.
