Since the Steelers still have roster holes, adding a player or two via trade would go a long way in filling out the final roster.

With the draft completed, the Steelers are likely looking at the roster that they will take into camp. That said, this team has become active in making trades during the offseason. Normally, trades around now involve a mid-late round pick in exchange for a young player who fills a hole on the team that has seemingly fallen out of favor with their original team.

With so many holes that don’t have clear players to fill them, adding a young talent via trade could go a long way in making this roster more competitive in 2021. Here are six trades that the Steelers should pursue to fill out their roster.

Ugo Amadi

Ugo Amadi has been a great contributor for the Seahawks since being taken in the fourth round of the 2019 draft, but he has failed to make a true leap to a starter. While he can wear many hats for the Seahawks, the team has seemingly planned on keeping him more on the bench in 2021 as evident by their roster heading into camp. Jamal Adams and Quandre Diggs will man the starting safety roles while Damarious Randell figures to be the first player off the bench. This should relegate Amadi to more of a role as a corner and, given his size, most of that will be in the slot.

While the Seahawks cornerback room isn’t top-heavy, it has quite a few quality options that will likely play before Amadi. Considering his cost and versatility, he isn’t a player that the Seahawks will force out in a trade, but if the right offer presented itself, the Steelers could easily bring him in. A fifth or sixth-round pick may be enough to land Amadi, and his value would be immediate for the team. He would be an upgrade over the recently signed Arthur Maulet and would instantly insert himself into the slot cornerback conversation.
