Steelers 2021 MVP: Ben Roethlisberger

Many people believe that Ben Roethlisberger is a washed-up NFL player and that assumption can be understood with how last season ended. One thing is for sure, this guy is a major competitor and he will do everything in his power to prove the doubters wrong. Roethlisberger might have finished the season poorly but he still put up some nice numbers when you reflect on the previous year. His motivation to return brought him the Comeback Player of the Year nomination and he will have to play at a high level going forward to take his team where he wants it to go.

Roethlisberger is not a selfish guy and he just wants to win at the end of the day. He has not won the team MVP since 2009 and this could be the year it changes. T.J. Watt and other defensive players could stand out as the favorites entering the season but don’t discount the quarterback of this team. He still had solid numbers after last season and he will do everything possible to get this team back into the playoffs and attempt to make another run before his career ends.

Another thing to keep an eye on is everyone saying this is his last go-around but Kevin Colbert has not closed the door on his return following the season. It will be based on the team’s performance and his own as well but don’t count out the veteran coming back again.
