Richard Sherman, Cornerback

Richard Sherman is on the latter portion of his career as he just celebrated turning 33 in March. That could be a concern for teams as the cornerback position demands athleticism and speed which gets taken away from players as they age. Sherman has had a great career up to this point and seems like he can still play at a nice starting level.

Steven Nelson is gone and the Steelers have ignored finding a great replacement for him. Cam Sutton will start at the outside corner spot but the team would be better off with him back into the slot with another starting outside. This free agent is a nice veteran option that fans are dying for and after his segment with Stephen A. Smith on ESPN asking him to go to the black and gold, they’re downright excited.

He claimed the team has not even reached out but he would be very interested if they called. That should let fans know everything that they need to. This franchise rarely signs veteran players over the age of 30 and that makes Sherman less of an option. But if he is open to coming to the team on a cheap deal then maybe it could become more of a reality going forward. It just seems like this signing will not happen and this player will not be joining this AFC North squad now or ever.
