The Pittsburgh Steelers need to find a way to add free agents to join their starting lineup before the season.

The Steelers have a lot of work left in front of them before the conclusion of the preseason. There are still uncertainties left along with some major parts of this starting roster. Some of those include left tackle, edge rusher, and cornerback.

The left tackle position was not addressed until the fourth round of the NFL Draft, and the others were not addressed till the later rounds. Free agents are still available and they could be starters for this upcoming squad.

Now, the team will not be able to afford all of these free agents, they might not be able to afford any. These players on this list could join the team and become instant starters if the black and gold get a chance to bring them aboard:

Russel Okung, offensive tackle

This player has had an up and down career while being a starting left tackle for many teams throughout the years. Russell Okung is a decent starter and would become the number one player on the left tackle depth chart upon signing with the franchise. The Steelers only have Chuks Okorafor at the position to start and little to no experience behind him.

Okung would give experience not only for depth purposes but a huge upgrade as a starter. He has stated that Pittsburgh doesn’t have enough money to sign him over social media but as time passes, his price tag will keep decreasing. If they can bring him onto the team at a reduced rate then this would be a nice addition as the team looks to continue their search for a replacement at left tackle.
