If there’s one position with the most question marks in 2021, it’s offensive tackle. The team lost Alejandro Villanueva this offseason, and Matt Feiler – who spent most of his Steelers career as a right tackle – is also gone. Now, Chukwuma Okorofar will be asked to man one of the most important roles on the team, as it’s presumed he will be the starting left tackle for Pittsburgh in 2021.

The former 2018 third-round pick saw his first sizable NFL action last season at right tackle after Zach Banner went down with an ACL tear, and the results were less than desirable. Okorafor graded out as one of the worst offensive tackles in the league last year, according to Pro Football Focus.

Now, Okorafor will not only look to make a drastic improvement, but he will be doing so at arguably the second-most important position in all of football, as he now has the responsibility of protecting Ben Roethlisberger’s blindside.

If Pittsburgh’s pass protection really struggles in 2021, it could very well be because Okorafor is just not meant for such a big role. The very much unproven tackle must prove to be capable of handling himself in one of the hardest positions in football. There is a lot of weight on his shoulders this year.
