OG Kevin Dotson

I almost went with fellow 2020 classmate, Chase Claypool here, but I honestly believe that Kevin Dotson might have a better chance of being an All-Pro player in 2021. This has little to do with Claypool’s talent (as he obviously has some remarkable athletic traits), but much to do with how many great receivers there are in the NFL right now).

Dotson, on the other hand, will have less competition for this honor, as only Wyatt Teller and Zach Martin graded out as elite players at the guard position last year, according to Pro Football Focus. Though he had just 4 starts as a rookie, Dotson graded out as the single-best pass-protecting offensive guard in the NFL last season, and he has even more potential as a run blocker thanks to his tenacity and ability to get to the second level.

While it’s hard to be so high on a former small-school 4th-round pick, Dotson has done nothing but impress since his time at Lousiana-Lafeyette, and there’s no reason to think that won’t continue. The barrel-chested offensive lineman is built like a professional wrestler, and the fact that he was manhandling NFL defensive tackles as a rookie speaks volumes for his potential success in the future.

Obviously, Dotson still has things he needs to work on, but it could be time to take the reigns from David DeCastro as the All-Pro guard on this team in 2021.
