Ranking the top 10 Pittsburgh Steelers heading into the 2021 NFL season
By Sam Ouhaj
8. Ben Roethlisberger
If it were any player that I wanted to not place on this list, it would have to be Big Ben. Yet, Ben has too much merit for me not to rank him, and as one of the Steelers’ all-time greats, it would be disrespectful not to mention him.
While Ben will be entering Canton, I cannot help but think that this will be his last year. As heartbreaking as this sounds, Roethlisberger has given everything he could to this Steelers organization but as father time begins to catch up, one of the two parties is eventually going to have to move on.
Granted, Ben battled back from a devastating shoulder injury which had a part in his poor performance. But that image of him throwing four interceptions against the Browns and looking out of it does not sit right with me. Hopefully, he will bounce back and guide the Steelers to a deep playoff run that ends in a Super Bowl so that he can retire on a high note.
