6. Devin Bush

Devin Bush returning to the Steelers at full health is one of the biggest wins of this offseason. After Bush went down, it felt like the Steelers defense had just lost one of their leaders, and for the rest of the season, it showed on the field.

Bush is only 22 years old, and when he is healthy, he is undoubtedly among the Steelers’ top five players. But while he is “fully healthy” in returning to the field and playing, his ACL injury is still something to keep an eye on during the first half of the season.

I expect Bush to be in the running for Come Back Player of the Year. Though it may take a while for him to return to full health, as stated prior, Bush will without a doubt find himself in the conversation at the season’s end. That is just how good he is when he is on the field.

5. JuJu Smith- Schuster

If JuJu did not return this season, Chase Claypool would have been at number five, but thankfully he decided to come back for at least one more year. Personally, this was the best-case scenario for him and the Steelers as after Antiono Brown’s departure, he has settled into the role of WR1 quite well.

Though he needs to improve on his off-the-field antics, he is a dominant player when he is on the field, and if the Steelers lost him this offseason, it would have been an enormous blow. Easily a fan favorite, JuJu had a decent 2020 season, but many other fans would have liked to see him amass 1000 yards, especially after having 97 catches.

To be fair, he has predominantly played in the slot, and there is an argument to be made that playing outside will improve his value for the Steelers. JuJu has been very vocal about playing a new role on the field, and with Dionate Johnson needing to figure out things, a switch should be considered.
