Najee Harris has done all he can this offseason to prove his worth as a solid addition to the Pittsburgh Steelers roster.

In the short time that he has spent with the team, Steelers rookie running back Najee Harris has wasted no time in winning over everyone’s hearts.

Based on first impressions with the media following the draft, the young star out of Alabama seemed very enthusiastic about the idea of joining Pittsburgh’s arsenal, along with showing that he is quite sociable with virtually anyone he comes across.

That level of comfort when discussing his future with the organization surely indicates excitement. He doesn’t seem like a scared young man who is out of his element to any degree. Rather, it appears as if he is eager to get his hands dirty and help lead his team back to being in ultimate control of the National Football League.

But even if his demeanor had failed to depict such a mindset, his offseason work ethic certainly has not. Without even playing a single snap of professional football yet, Harris has been “reprimanded” for training too long.

According to Steelers RBs coach Eddie Faulkner back in June, Harris had to be sent home from minicamp for watching too much film and not taking any breaks.

If a rookie has only one flaw and it’s for working too hard, then the franchise that selected him has nothing to be afraid of in regards to what all he will give during the actual NFL season.

Now it is important to remember that Harris, as previously established, is yet to take a single snap of even a preseason game. As a result, the paramount test of his worth is one that still remains to be seen. However, he has checked just about every box that he can until that time comes.

The hype that surrounded Najee Harris leading up to Draft Day gave many Steelers fans (myself included) a touch of skepticism, as he was arguably not even the best player available at a position that was hardly the top need for Pittsburgh to begin with. But in the short time since then, he has done a rather fascinating job at silencing the haters.
