The Steelers have had many headaches from players with both on the field and off the field issues in recent history.

The Hall of Shame is a made-up concept but one that would house many players for a wide array of reasons. No matter if it’s a lack of on-the-field production or issues off the field, they could end up here. This past decade or so has lead to a lot of heartbreak for the Steelers. They had talented teams but just couldn’t get over the hump to win a Super Bowl.

Seasons ended with upsets by the opposing teams sending the black and gold home. This frustration led to turmoil and eventual breakups between players and the franchise as time went on. Some were kicked out because they couldn’t play to the standard expected of them, others suffered countless injuries, and others had off-the-field issues.

No matter their case, these players made the list for their induction into the Steelers Hall of Shame. This list only focused on players of recent history that had many outgoings with the team. The fan base will have their own opinions about these players and for good reason. Some dishonorable mentions are Rashard Mendenhall, Mike Vick, Senquez Golson, Mike Adams, and so many more.

Ladarius Green, Tight End

Ladarius Green was one of the most lucrative free-agent signings that the Steelers ever made in their history as a franchise. They went big game hunting looking for Heath Miller’s replacement. Green seemed to be ready for a starting spot after sitting behind Antonio Gates with the San Diego Chargers. The biggest issue on him was the injuries that he suffered in his career before even stepping foot in Pittsburgh. He had a culmination of injuries, the major one being his concussions. The franchise decided that they were comfortable enough with signing Green even with these red flags.

He would go on being injured on and off with the black and gold. He seemed like a missing piece for the offense that was already so explosive. Sometimes free-agent deals just don’t mix and this one failed. Green would be let go after a short stint with the team and is still one of the worst moves Kevin Colbert has made during his time with the team.
