Steelers Edge Rushers (4)

T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, Melvin Ingram, Quincy Roche

The position that used to be a weakness has now become more of a strength after a recent free-agent addition. While T.J. Watt is a superstar and Alex Highsmith also flashed as a rookie there are some questions with him heading into his second year. He did flash some advanced pass-rushing moves off last season which provides hope that he can become a quality starter.

The Steelers added Melvin Ingram to the group now, which makes the Steelers’ depth here pretty solid. While Ingram’s role with the team is unclear right now, he and Highsmith figure to be the answer across from Watt. Add in Quincy Roche as a developmental prospect, and this group has suddenly gotten stronger.

There are other options, a handful of guys on futures deals and some undrafted free agents, but none of them should be considered legitimate players to make this team. The only one with a real chance right now is Jamar Watson, as he was a decent pass rusher in college but struggles with his lacking athleticism. If the team opted to keep five edge rushers, Cassius Marsh could sneak on or an upstart like Watson could be kept, but it seems unlikely at this point.
