Stephon Tuitt

Overall ranking: 89

Here’s a player who is finally starting to get the respect he deserves. Stephon Tuitt has quietly been one of the best interior defensive linemen in the NFL for several years now. However, his first terrific season from a production standpoint came in 2020.

Last year, Tuitt racked up 11.0 sacks, 10 tackles for a loss, and 25 quarterback hits. His sacks and QB hits ranked near the top of all interior defenders last year. The performance gap between him and Cam Heyward is rapidly closing, and there’s a solid chance that Tuitt is going to be the better player moving forward for the Steelers.

Despite entering his 8th NFL season, Tuitt turned just 28 years old in May and still has plenty left in the tank. Along with the names mentioned above Heyward in Madden 22 ratings, Tuitt falls just behind Chris Jones (92) and Michael Pierce (91), and he is tied with Kenny Clark with an 89 overall grade.

With some strong performances early in the 2021 season, Tuitt can find himself in the 90s overall and potentially leapfrog a few names on this list. Heyward never made an All-Pro until age 28. Perhaps Tuitt will follow in his footsteps this year.
