Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions are an interesting trade destination for a few reasons. The first reason is that they are trying to rebuild and have an emphasis on acquiring younger players. James Washington, a former second-round pick in 2018, is only 25 years old. This fits their timeline perfectly.

The second reason is that they do not have a very good receiving core as it stands. Their wide receiver depth, according to ESPN, consists of Tyrell Williams, followed by wide receiver two, Breshad Perriman, and Quintez Cephus as their third. Adding James Washington to this mix not only gives them more dependability, but it also gives them a young receiver with a lot of upside.

James Washington here, just like the Packers, would also give him the chance to immediately step into a bigger role. The quarterback talent is definitely a drop-off, but Jared Goff has also had periods of spectacular play. This young quarterback and wide receiver duo might just be what the Lions’ offense needs.
