The Philadelphia Eagles host the Pittsburgh Steelers this week in the NFL preseason. Here are four players fans must have their eye on.

Thanks to the additional preseason game, the Pittsburgh Steelers already have one exhibition matchup in the books for 2021. While their Hall of Fame Game against the Dallas Cowboys consisted primarily of second and third-string players, there were still some very telling performances – both positive and negative.

This week, the Steelers are in Philadelphia to take on the Eagles in a game that will likely feature more starters than we saw in the Hall of Fame Game. There are many young players who could have an important impact on the franchise in 2021 and beyond. Here are four players all Pittsburgh fans should be watching against the Eagles this week:

QB Dwayne Haskins

Despite a solid preseason performance so far, Dwayne Haskins’ first exhibition action with the Steelers didn’t quite go as expected. Though he made a couple of nice passes, his accuracy was spotty at best, and he missed too many routine throws.

As a result, Haskins had some missed opportunities to move the chains on offense. This was reflected in his 70.7 passer rating and dismal 4.2 yards per attempt, according to ESPN. While the receivers were to blame for some of this, we would have thought the former 15th overall pick would have been in his element against second and third-string players.

The Steelers recently said that Mason Rudolph will once again work ahead of Haskins to open the game against the Eagles. Rudolph was less than spectacular last week as well, and we would like to see Haskins really push him for this job. Let’s see if he performs better the second time around.
