Headed into week two of the three-week pre-season the Steelers injury report is looking good, and they have only some minor injuries.

There is only one major injury to report this week. Fortunately, it came at the expense of a backup defensive end that landed him on the injured reserve list, and the other injuries are only questionable and to non-starters.

Calvin Taylor DE: Out (undisclosed)

The most severe injury this week, but the Steelers have not released any specific injury details. With Taylor the Steelers waived him and if he cleared waivers his rights revert back to the Steelers. He did clear waivers and reverted to the Injured reserve list. He can return to the active roster this season but no earlier than week eight. Taylor was an undrafted free agent in 2020 but spent the entire season on the practice squad. He Joins Demarcus Christmas DT, Dax Raymond TE Demarkus Acy CB, and Anthony Coyle OL on the IR list.

Benny Snell RB: questionable (undisclosed)

He spends another week on the injury report and no playing time in the Steelers’ first two pre-season games. While the nature of the injury still has not been reported, DK Pittsburgh Sports has reported he has gotten some work in on an exercise bike. Though listed as questionable, unless he returns to practice, he likely misses week two of the pre-season.

James Washington WR: Questionable (undisclosed)

Washington had had this injury since about the 7th of August when Adam Shefter reported the story of Washington’s supposed trade request. In relation to the Injury Brook Pryor of ESPN reported he had an ice wrap in his leg on the 14th. However, that said, reports had him stretching and running sprints  Saturday afternoon. So the thought is he may return to practice this week. Chances seem good he may play against Detroit.

For all the latest injury news, you can always check ESPN, and the Steelers’ official injury reports will begin the Wednesday before the season opener.
