The Steelers could pull off some trades and get some value back before losing some players for nothing when final cuts come in.

Many fans might not think the Steelers have any tradable players behind their starters, but that would be incorrect. There have been many trades completed during this pre-season and it will likely continue as each team around the NFL looks to improve.

Just because the team carries a certain roster now, they might like another player that gets cut or made available via trade in the coming days or weeks. This is an evaluation of talent across the league, not just for those players currently on the roster. Pittsburgh is always looking for ways to improve so they can win football games when they start counting. These trade candidates could be sent to another team for some compensation before the regular season begins.

Jordan Berry, Punter

Jordan Berry would seem to be a surprise for many. Punters are people too and this veteran could see some trade interest from other teams. Punting is a very important position for special teams and even though this player has had many ups and downs in his career, there are worse at his position.

There are 32 jobs for this in the NFL and Berry is not the worst option out there. He is not the most consistent but he has shown in training camp that he is an NFL talent. Perhaps a team with a dome would be his best option and playing away from the cold elements consistently. He wouldn’t fetch much, maybe a seventh or some pick in the future. That would be a solid return for a guy the black and gold were just going to let go anyway.
