2. OT Chukwuma Okorafor

I was not impressed with Chukwuma Okorafor at all in 2020. Filling in for Zach Banner at right tackle, Chuks showed a blatant lack of power when anchoring in pass sets and he did nothing in terms of getting push on the ground in the run game.

Still, despite making the switch to left tackle this year (a position that is more natural to him), I expected Okorafor to look like the best option on the team. That’s hasn’t been the case at all. Though he’s entering his fourth NFL season, Okorafor has been grossly outplayed by rookie backup, Dan Moore – so much so that fans are starting to wonder if Moore is a better option from the gate.

Going back and watching Okorafor’s tape, he’s done a good job exploding out of his stance, but his technique gets sloppy and he’s failed to consistently keep edge rusher in front of him. On top of this, there is an obvious lack of strength in the run game, and he just doesn’t have the ability to bully the man in front of him.

This is still preseason, and it’s possible that Okorafor could look better when it really matters. However, he’s graded out as the worst and second-worst offensive player on the team in back-to-back games now, and he hasn’t given us a lot of confidence heading into the season.
