OT Chukwuma Okorafor

Chukwuma Okorafor has been one of the most disappointing players of the offseason to me. Fans had high hopes for Okorafor coming out of Western Michigan back in 2018. He had coveted size and length with good athletic traits and mobility for the tackle position. Unfortunately, it has yet to translate to success on the football field.

Last season, Chuks filled in at right tackle for the injured Zach Banner and starting 15 games, but the results were far from spectacular, and Okorafor graded out as one of the worst tackles in football last year.

We are hoping for much better results this season now that Okorafor is penciled in at left tackle and Ben Roethlisberger’s blindside protector. However, what we’ve seen from him this summer has not been promising.

The Steelers seem to be comfortable with Okorafor as their left tackle in 2021, but rookie Dan Moore Jr. is making a case for himself. It will be interesting to see if Okorafor can really step up his game against the Panthers or if the Steelers would consider deploying a rookie at left tackle this season.
