Steelers RB Benny Snell Jr.
Benny Snell’s stock has been an absolute rollercoaster – at least to us on the outside. Just a few weeks ago, many weren’t sure if Snell was even going to make the final 53-man roster. Now it appears he is sitting comfortably in the driver’s seat as the number two ruining back for the Steelers entering the season.
Snell’s stock gets an even bigger boost with second-year speedster, Anthony McFarland, landing on IR to begin the season. Because of this, Snell is likely going to be the first running back off the bench for the Steelers and will spell rookie Najee Harris of a few snaps here and there.
While Harris is going to be the workhorse for this team and get a bulk of the touches, Snell is pretty fortunate to be in this situation. Considering the fact that he averaged just 3.3 yards per carry last season and missed the first three preseason games with injury this year, I didn’t think he would be in a position to be the team’s RB2 right now.
Just like that, Snell went from a player we thought will be trying to make an NFL roster to the number two guy in line. We will see how he looks when called upon vs the Bills.
