As the Pittsburgh Steelers were taking on the Buffalo Bills in their season-opening matchup, all eyes would be on outside linebacker T.J. Watt. As an edge rusher, his contributions on the Steelers over the past four seasons have been surreal.

So far in his young career, Watt has totaled 168 tackles, 49.5 sacks, four interceptions, and 17 forced fumbles. Just days before his big Week 1 matchup against the Bills, the Steelers finally came to terms with Watt on a massive contract extension.

For the next four years, Watt will be a Steeler and paid very well to rightfully be a part of their long-term plans. Especially when he’s able to make the kind of plays that continue making him into a force to reckon with. Against the Bills, Watt has a beautiful strip sack on quarterback Josh Allen to help do his part for the Steelers to start the season off with a win.

With epic plays like this to kick off the new season, it’s no wonder that the Steelers wanted to get his contract extension done to focus on the task at hand. With all that out of the way, now it’s time for Watt to continue to do what he does best, and hopefully, that means leaving Week 1 victorious with his teammates.
