The oddsmakers and pundits alike certainly didn’t think the Pittsburgh Steelers could go on the road and pull off a surprising win over the high-powered Buffalo Bills in Week 1.
But thanks to a stout black and gold defense, along with some timely offensive plays, that’s exactly what happened, and now Pittsburgh finds itself 1-0 heading home to Heinz Field to take on a longtime foe, the Las Vegas Raiders, in Week 2.
Las Vegas will be coming off a short week, having beaten the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football, so perhaps that gives Pittsburgh a bit of an edge in this matchup.
Especially if the defense continues to play lights out.

The Raiders having put up 33 points in the overtime win over Baltimore on Monday night suggests they could be an offensive powerhouse this season, but one needs to account for just how well Pittsburgh’s defense looked in Week 1, too.
Expect that to be a key factor for the black and gold, especially going up against a suspect Las Vegas offensive line that’s dealing with plenty of injuries.
