The Steelers get burnt by Chase

One of the Bengals’ strongest positional groups has to be their receivers. A talented duo was already there in Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd, and they opted to add Ja’Marr Chase in the draft this offseason. While I personally think the Steelers match up well against Boyd and Higgins, Chase is a different story.

Boyd has been a reception magnet, but Cameron Sutton’s intelligence and athleticism pair well with him. As for Higgins, he is a physical receiver, but a player like James Pierre or Joe Haden should be able to stop him. Chase is a different animal though. While he also has great size, his best trait is his speed, something the Steelers’ secondary doesn’t match up well with.

I called it last week with Henry Ruggs, and I think lightning strikes twice. Chase finds a way to burn the Steelers secondary deep, further adding to the idea that the team can’t cover speedy deep threats. As well, Chase can win short and over the middle as well, and he has the biggest day of any Bengal receiver. His rare size and athleticism make him a nightmare for the Steelers to try and cover.
