CB Jaire Alexander

With Joe Haden saying he won’t return to the Steel City for another contract, Pittsburgh will have one of the worst cornerback situations in the NFL in 2022, Jaire Alexander would help. Alexander is not only a young option who is still on his rookie contract but has been better as he progresses into his NFL career.

In 2020, he was only targeted 80 times and allowed 375 yards, 2 touchdowns, and a 51.3 completion percentage in pass coverage while intercepting the ball once. Those numbers were a big improvement from his sophomore season and he made the jump in the NFL that players need to make to show they are the real deal. Jaire is also a good tackler and when the Steelers play zone coverage he would be easy to rely on in the open field.

If he were to join Pittsburgh, Cam Sutton and James Pierre would be on the field with him and the Steelers would have a middle-of-the-pack corner situation unless Pierre makes his jump. He could easily have the same impact as Minkah did if he was brought over. The Louisville product would be solid for years to come and would squash the need for the Steelers to try and attempt to draft another cornerback in the future.
