Conclusion

When the Steelers do not score in the first quarter, they are 1-7 lifetime against the Packers, with their only victory dating back to 11/20/1949. Their record in games at Green Bay is 1-4 when they do not score in the first quarter.

When Scoring three points, Pittsburgh has a 1-2 record at Green Bay, a 4-1 record at Green bay when scoring 7 points, and a 2-0 record all-time scoring six points 1-0 on the road at Green Bay.

If the Steelers scored a touchdown with the extra point, they could have had three additional victories over the Packers and one at home, although three of those four games were prior to 1970.

So the Steelers do have problems. One of them is an issue scoring in the first quarter, which as history shows, affects them tremendously. Also, if they are going to beat the Packers, they will need a score of some type in the first quarter to make that happen, whether it’s against the Packers or any other team.

So while there may be other issues affecting the Steelers in multiple ways, not scoring in the first quarter affected their 2020 season and is affecting their 2021 season. They need first-quarter points, and until they start scoring those points, do not expect the Steelers’ 2021 season to improve much.
