Steelers vs. Packers: Writers’ predictions for Pittsburgh’s must-win game
The Still Curtain returns once again as they predict who will win the Pittsburgh Steelers week four contest against the Greek Bay Packers.
From here on out, there’s only one question that can be asked of the Pittsburgh Steelers. How long will it take until they can rebound as a team? A fantastic start it would be if they were to pull out a victory at Lambeau Field on Sunday; however, would that be convincing enough?
Dropping losses to the Las Vegas Raiders & Cincinnati Bengals, but then a dominating second-half win against the Buffalo Bills, is it health-related? Offensive scheme? Lack of performance? Perhaps, a collection of everything that has been asked, the point is the problems are vast.
Attempting to avoid a 1-3 start to the year, the Steelers must first overcome the Green Bay Packers. An offense that has found its way in the past two weeks, averaging 37.5 points in that span, this will be the Black & Gold’s toughest matchup to date. Odds favor the Packers by 6.5 points, but what do our writers at the Still Curtain think?

Writers recap of Steelers vs. CIN
As the records show above, it’s currently not the greatest time at the Still Curtain for predictions. Although a few contributors have managed to earn themselves a tally into the win column, not one member has a positive record.
However, indicating that there was an initial faith in this Steelers team, is there any left? The upcoming matchup for Pittsburgh this weekend doesn’t help much either for restoration, but that doesn’t mean it’s completely absent at the Still Curtain.
Week four predictions vs. Packers
KODY DUNCAN: If some key players return for the Steelers like TJ Watt, Alex Highsmith, and Diontae Johnson we may have a game. I believe it will be closer than people expect. (GB 28-21)
ANDREW FALCE: The Steelers have to come out with an adjusted play style to complete. I think they match up well against the Packers and should have their edge group healthier than the last two weeks. Against my better judgment, the Steelers edge this one out on the backs of a consistent Najee Harris rushing performance and a rejuvenated pass rush. (PIT 21-20)
ERIC HASSEL: After two consecutive AFC losses, the Steelers travel to Green Bay for an iconic matchup between the team of the ’60s and the team of the ’70s. The Steelers pull off a miracle on a 4th quarter INT that leads to a game-winning FG. (PIT 23-21)
TOMMY JAGGI: The Steelers are looking to bounce back from two straight losses at Heinz Field. Unfortunately, stealing a win from the Packers at Lambeau Field isn’t going to be easy. After an embarrassing loss to the Saints in Week 1, Aaron Rodgers has been electric over his past two games. I think Pittsburgh’s defense does enough to give the offense a chance in this contest, but it won’t be quite enough. (GB 28-20)
BRANDON KRING: The Steelers have proven that they are a bad football team right now. The defense is in disarray with injuries and the offense is just plain bad. The Packers are a much better team and will roll at Lambeau. (GB 30-14)
MICHELLE KOTTS: Steelers break out of an offensive slumber, like the Saints week 1, and paste the Packers at home. (PIT 56-3)
SHAYNE KUBAS: With the Steelers offense in complete shambles, this game could get ugly. The Packers shook off their blowout loss to the Saints and now look more like the team we expected to see, and Aaron Rodgers doesn’t seem to be slowing down quite yet. The Steelers will be a bit healthier for this game, but I don’t see it being enough to compete with Green Bay on their home turf. (GB 28-10)
SCOTT LONG: While the offense finally starts to click a little bit they aren’t enough to keep up with Aaron Rodgers and the lethal packers offense. A late long td to MVS serves as the clincher for the Packers. (GB 30-20)
LUKE METRINKO: The Steelers are coming off an extremely disappointing loss to the Bengals. The Steelers had problems guarding Ja’Marr Chase last week, I can’t imagine what Davante Adam’s is going to do to this secondary. I just don’t see the Steelers bouncing back in this one even if TJ Watt plays. (GB 28-17)
JORDAN NEWMAN: Unless the Steelers can pull off the upset of the week, I can’t see any way they have the advantage in this game. Despite a stellar pass rush returning its best player, that still won’t derail the passing attack of the Packers. GB wins comfortably. (GB 27-13)
RYAN PAWLOSKI: The Steelers are in a bind right now as they struggle to show much when they play a football game right now. Aaron Rodgers is playing at the top level of his game right now so expect him to score lots of points for the home team on Sunday. (GB 38-17)
LOYAL RICKS JR: The Steelers struggle to stop Aaron Rodgers and the passing attack. Pittsburgh plays hard but falls short to the Packers. (GB 24-17)
