Steelers are on verge of a possible losing season

When Roethlisberger went down in 2019 the Steelers were 1-3 in the first four games, now with Big Ben the Steelers are sitting at the same 1-3 record and might finish worse than 8-8, assuming the Steelers finish the season without a tie.

Aside from week 1, Pittsburgh has been horrible, only scoring above 20 once and is the only team besides Jacksonville to not have scored 24 or more points this season. Offensive coaching is shockingly similar to last season and after hearing about how Ben won’t be throwing as much as he last year and there will be a new offense, Steeler Nation has yet to be impressed.

The play calls on fourth down are very short passes and are often behind the line of scrimmage, then there is little to no blocking. There is no rhythm in the offense or on the field at all and it is leading to players calling out the effort of the team.

The Steelers also have run out of plays to call, so the offense is very predictable and has failed after the first 1-2 series. The defense has also been disappointing as well, as I have already referenced. There are injuries and that is a part of the game, but the team has played without these players before and has succeeded, so why are they having trouble this time around?

We already knew the season wouldn’t be easy because the team holds the hardest schedule in the NFL, but even when some predicted it would go like this, it’s still hard to see. The fans still can’t count out the Steelers because they have faced adversity before, still, it does seem likely the Steelers will have their highest draft pick since 2015 when they picked 15th overall.

It may come across as I am beating on the Steelers when so many already are, I am just calling what I see and what some others see. I can see both ways in the case of the Steelers turning things around but I will leave that up to the team themselves. The Steelers did play a poor game with some good highlights like Najee Harris ran for a career-high 62 yards and scored his first rushing touchdown of his NFL career, but for now, we are onto Denver.
