Another week, another poor performance for Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger and the offense. Just how bad was it, and what’s next for Ben?

Ben Roethlisberger will be remembered years from now as a 2-time Super Bowl champion and the best QB in Steelers history. He threw his 400th career touchdown pass on Sunday, becoming just the 8th QB in NFL history to reach that mark. He ranks even higher in wins as a starter, where he currently ranks 5th all-time with 157.

Unfortunately for Steelers fans, and for Ben, none of it matters right now. What Ben showed against Green Bay was simple: he is at the end of the line. Last week, I wasn’t ready to say it was over for Ben. Even now despite all the evidence pointing in that direction, part of me wants to believe he can catch fire again.

The odds of that happening only get worse every week, and with the Steelers schedule not getting much easier any time soon, the odds will only continue to slide. If Pittsburgh really wants to try and save their season, a move at QB is going to have to happen. Until it does though, all fans can do is hope that something clicks. Ben’s best throw of the day seemed like a glimmer of hope, but it turned out to be fool’s gold.
