FS Justin Simmons
Justin Simmons isn’t necessarily needed as much as he has been in the past, Terrell Edmunds has been playing better, but he would improve the position immensely regardless. Simmons not only would make the safety room one of the best in the league but it would also add more turnovers to the defense and keep wide receivers on lockdown.
Justin allowed a 52.8% completion on opposing wide receivers in 2019, he also allowed 4 touchdowns and 288 yards on 53 targets, 28 completed. The following season in 2020 he allowed a 77.8% completion percentage, with that he allowed 447 yards and 7 touchdowns, 2020 was a weird year and he has returned to his 2019 form so far in 2021.
Justin Simmons and Minkah Fitzpatrick are alike more so than originally thought, both are known to be well in coverage and create turnovers via interceptions and both play special teams, Pittsburgh is always looking for a way to better their special teams.
Justin Simmons does have strong safety positional experience so the position change wouldn’t be a huge problem. The 27-year old safety would fit right at home into a stacked Steelers defense, and with Patrick Surtain the new fantasized Steeler defense would be feared for years to come.
These three players add more of a youth factor that sports teams are always looking for, some players were not picked because of age or because they are injured easily or frequently. The future would be set for greatness but sadly none of these players would ever leave Denver unless they are not re-signed, but everyone has a price.
