Steelers finally might have a running game they can rely on
Just because Najee Harris struggled to run the football early in the season doesn’t mean we were ever questioning whether or not this was a talent issue. It was clear to see that the offensive line played a big factor in the success (or lack thereof) of the running game.
With the offensive line providing their best performance of the season, it wasn’t a surprise that Harris was able to reap the benefits. When blocking was scarce, Najee pounded his way for extra yardage, but he was certainly aided by some gaping holes in this contest that allowed him to break loose into the second level at times.
The results were astonishing, and the Steelers were able to rush for 147 yards in this contest while also punching in a score on the ground. There’s no doubt in my mind that Harris can be one of the best running backs in the league. With the offensive line improving, Pittsburgh is finally starting to show us why they might have a rushing attack we can rely on.
Overall, I thought this was a pretty good game by the Steelers on both sides of the ball. There are certain things Mike Tomlin will need to take back to the drawing board, but Pittsburgh needed a win, and this team delivered against the Broncos in Week 5.
