6 Steelers with soaring stock heading into Week 6 game vs Seahawks
By Tommy Jaggi
Pittsburgh snapped their losing streak with a win over the Denver Broncos. Here are five Steelers with soaring stock heading into Week 6.
Mike Tomlin knew that a Week 5 loss against the Denver Broncos would have been excruciatingly hard to recover from. Thankfully, his team looked well prepared as they took care of business against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Their opponent never held the lead in the game, and it was an incredibly well-rounded performance from the Pittsburgh Steelers. As a result, here are six players whose stock is soaring heading into Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks:
Steelers WR Chase Claypool
After an amazing start to his rookie season in 2020, the Chase Claypool hype eventually fizzled down after only garnering over 75 receiving yards in one of his final 12 games last year. Now, it appears as if Claypool could be on the verge of another tremendous breakout.
Claypool sat out in Week 4 due to an injury but started to gain some steam against the Bengals prior to his absence. However, Week 5 against the Denver Broncos was easily his best game of the season. With JuJu Smith-Schuster out with a shoulder injury, Claypool assumed much of the slot duties, and he was excellent with his opportunities.
On the afternoon, the gifted receiver caught 5 of 6 targets for 130 yards and a touchdown, according to Pro Football Reference. The Steelers could continue to use him in this role where he can run after the catch and stretch the seam in the middle of the field. This could make his connection with Ben Roethlisberger far more efficient moving forward.
