Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger

I’m not yet ready to say that Big Ben is officially back to the form of himself from a few years ago. There are clearly some things he still needs to work on, and some things — thanks to his arm and mobility limitations — that he will not be able to correct.

Still, it was certainly encouraging to see him step up his game against the Denver Broncos in Week 5. While Ben was fortunate that Broncos defenders dropped three interceptions, he had some beautiful throws in this contest and found more success connecting with his receivers down the field.

As a result, the 18-year veteran was able to average over 10 yards per attempt throughout a full game for the first time since Week 10 of the 2018 season against the Carolina Panthers.

With an improved offensive line and a running game he can finally rely on, Big Ben was able to put up his best performance of the season, and he will look to continue to build on this momentum against a susceptible Seahawks defense this week.

The Steelers still have their work cut out for them if they want to insert their names alongside the list of real competitors this season, but it’s nice to know that they have some important names that are rapidly trading up.
