4. Dallas Cowboys

It pains me to say this, but for the first time since their 2014 season, I think the Dallas Cowboys can be legitimate Super Bowl contenders again this year. With Dak Prescott back leading the charge after suffering a severe foot injury in 2020, I counted on their offense being near the top. However, the defense has gotten some surprise performances this year.

Rookie linebacker Micah Parsons has been remarkable in the early going, while second-year cornerback Trevon Diggs appears to be a clear frontrunner for Defensive Player of the Year after earning a whopping 6 interceptions in his first 5 games of the season.

All of this has equated to Dallas surrendering a respectable 23.4 points per game while scoring 34.0 of their own — a point differential of 10.6 per contest.

Playing against one of the worst divisions in the NFL, there’s no doubt Dallas is going to lock up the NFC East this year, and they will have a chance to compete for one of the top seeds in the entire conference.
