Steelers 3rd-round pick: QB Desmond Ridder, Cincinnati

Desmond Ridder would be a great selection in the 3rd round of the 2022 NFL draft for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ridder stands at 6’4” and weighs 215lbs. He has a lot of experience as a college quarterback playing and starting in 41 games with Cincinnati.

This year, Ridder has been one of the top quarterbacks in college football. He has helped his team to a 5-0 start and also a team ranking in the top 5. He has completed 95 of his 145 passes, which gives him a modest completion percentage of 65.5 percent. He is averaging 9.0 yards an attempt and currently has thrown for 12 touchdowns to only 2 interceptions.

Ridder is also mobile for his size. In 5 games this year, he has rushed 33 times for 104 yards with 3 rushing touchdowns. In his college career, he has rushed 424 times for 1,929 yards and 25 rushing touchdowns. I believe this is something the Steelers need in Matt Canada’s offense.

I think this quarterback draft class is being slept on. There is a lot of talent for the 2022 draft and I believe the Steelers will find their next franchise quarterback. Any of these 3 quarterbacks should be a good choice for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
