Steelers have favorable matchups vs Seahawks

In addition to being a healthier team with their starting quarterback still intact, the Steelers also have some very favorable matchups in this contest. Seattle’s roster is really hurting this year, and Pittsburgh will no doubt look to exploit some of their glaring weaknesses.

For starters, the Seahawks are dead last in the NFL in yards allowed per game — surrendering an astonishing 450.8 per contest, according to team rankings. This is nearly 200 more yards per game than the Buffalo Bills are currently giving up.

Of this yardage, Seattle is 31st in the NFL in run defense, allowing a whopping 145.2 yards on the ground per game. With Najee Harris and Pittsburgh’s offensive line coming off their best performance of the season, the Steelers could exploit this favorable matchup.

In addition to this, Pete Carroll’s entire secondary has graded out as one of the very worst in football this year, according to PFF. Cornerback Sidney Jones has earned just a 39.9 (114th out of 115 qualifying cornerbacks), and he is going to have his hands full trying to cover Diontae Johnson.
