Steelers momentum and a scheduling advantage over Seahawks

Right now, the Pittsburgh Steelers should have just about as much momentum as any other team in the league. Though they are only on a one-game winning streak, their offensive line play has really stepped up in their last two performances, and they have shown the ability to run the ball consistently and effectively.

In addition, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is coming off his best game of the season, while Pittsburgh’s defense is finally starting to get healthy. They held the Broncos to just 3 points through three quarters and change last week before giving up a few late scores.

Another advantage is that the Seahawks are traveling from the west coast to the east coast for this Week 6 matchup. Though they’ve had ample time to prepare for the Steelers after playing Thursday night football in Week 5, there is still evidence that suggests that jetlagged teams traveling from west to east typically struggle to find success in these games.

Overall, the biggest advantage is that the Steelers will be playing a backup quarterback this week instead of one of the NFL’s premier passers in Russell Wilson. At Heinz Field on Sunday Night Football, I expect Pittsburgh to stroll to victory in this contest.
