The Steelers finally bounced back and halted their losing streak knocking off the Broncos in a thrilling victory. However, it came at a heavy price.

While they managed to win, the Steelers lost their number one wide receiver for the remainder of the season. Now the Steelers will have to traverse the rest of the season without JuJu Smith-Schuster.

While a considerable blow to the Steelers’ offense, it’s not an insurmountable loss for the black and gold but undoubtedly disappointing. Also, as in 2020, the Steelers had a rash of knee injuries plague their linebacker corps; in 2021, groin injuries have plagued the Steelers as James Washington and Devon Bush become the latest Steelers on a long list of those who have to succumb to a groin this season.

On the bright side, two Steelers are returning to active duty. The Steelers have activated Zach Banner and Anthony McFarland off the injury reserve list. While there are no guarantees either will play in the Seattle game, they should both be active in week eight coming off the bye.

If nothing else, Banner’s return will help bolster the offensive line and hopefully help the running game improve.  Helping to get Najee Harris some open holes to keep up the run production he found in week five. Mcfarland, the second-year running back who looked good in the preseason until he ended up on the injury reserve list, should presumably return as Najee Harris’ backup and the number two back over Benny Snell.
