Chase Claypool WR: Questionable (hamstring)

Yet again, a third Steelers player whose name occupies the injury list for two consecutive weeks for the same injury and still played and had a huge game in week five, helping secure a Steelers victory. His performance against Denver gave no indication his hamstring bothered him in the least. Still wanting to be exceedingly cautious, especially considering JuJu’s injury, the Steelers only held Claypool to a limited practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

It makes sense as there is no reason to subject him to a full practice and take a chance on aggravating the hamstring, knowing he can still play while keeping him rested for the Seahawks game. The Steelers will need him Sunday, so their rationale is quite sound. Steelers’ fans should in no way expect him to miss the Seattle game as he and Diontae Johnson take over the number one and two wide receiver spots.

Even though there are numerous names on the injury list, it appears most of them should end up playing in the Seattle game, which is very good for Pittsburgh, who have a chance to win their second straight game on Sunday against the 2-3 Seawhk team missing its star quarterback and running back Chris Carson.

Given the injuries to Seattle and the fact they travel to Pittsburgh, it should prove daunting as they must prepare to have Geno Smith lead the team. While having started before with the Jet’s in 2013-2014, he has only played 11 games since then, starting only two. The Steelers are not the team he would prefer to make his first 2021 start against, as T.J. Watt may be in his face all night.
