4 takeaways from Steelers overtime win against the Seattle Seahawks

The Steelers were able to win their second straight game in Week 6. Here are my four biggest takeaways from their overtime win against the Seattle Seahawks.
It was one crazy night in Pittsburgh on October 17th. Coming off a Week 5 win against the Denver Broncos, the Pittsburgh Steelers were favored to win against the visiting Seattle Seahawks under the lights of Sunday Night Football in Week 6.
Though it looked like Mike Tomlin’s team was going to dominate from the gate, this contest was a true rollercoaster ride. Fortunately, the Steelers were able to hang on to win in overtime thanks to a remarkable forced fumble by T.J. Watt. Here are my four biggest takeaways from the game:
T.J. Watt is earning that big paycheck
It would be really hard to watch this game against Seattle and come up with the conclusion that T.J. Watt is “overpaid.” Sadly, this is a stance that some fans have taken early in the year. After an utterly dominant performance against the Seahawks in Week 6, I’m hoping he has changed their minds.
In the first half of the game, Watt was creating pressure on the quarterback, batting down passes, and landing shots on Geno Smith just after he delivered the ball. His late-game performance was even more dominant and included the game-winning forced fumble on a picture-perfect tomahawk chop.
Watt finished the game with 7 tackles, 2.0 sacks, 3 tackles for a loss, 3 pass defenses, and 2 quarterback hits. One of the NFL’s most dominant defenders now has 7.0 sacks through his first 5 games played while dealing with a groin injury for a few contests. Watt has been worth every penny of his new extension so far.
