Steelers LB Devin Bush

If we’re being honest with ourselves, Devin Bush is in the running for the most disappointing Steelers player in 2021. Despite investing a first and second-round pick to move up to the 10th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Bush has been completely underwhelming.

This could be largely due to injuries he has suffered dating back to last season. In just the fifth game of his second year in the league, Bush tore his ACL and was done for the year. To make matters worse, the young linebacker has dealt with a groin injury early in the 2021 season.

Combining these two factors together could certainly contribute to a less than stellar performance so far, but it hasn’t been pretty. Bush has allowed a 116.1 passer rating in coverage this year while simultaneously grading out as one of Pro Football Focus’s worst run defenders through Week 6.

It’s entirely possible that Bush looks healthy and fresh as the Steelers have two full weeks to prepare for their game against the Browns. For the sake of this team, let’s hope it’s just the lingering injuries that have him trending in the wrong direction.
