Steelers OT Chukwuma Okorafor
Of the four players on this list, Chukwuma Okorafor is the only one really in jeopardy of losing his job because of poor play this season. Though Okorafor has looked adequate at times, he is coming off an underwhelming game against the Seattle Seahawks in which he graded out as one of the worst performers for the Steelers in Week 6, according to Pro Football Focus.
This is a concern for Okorafor who isn’t even guaranteed to start following the bye week. When Dan Moore left the game last week, backup offensive tackle Joe Haeg had a very respectable performance. In fact, Haeg has graded out as the best offensive lineman on the team on 109
snaps this season.
In addition, Zach Banner could soon be making his return to the field. With Okorafor being so inconsistent, it’s possible that Tomlin could insert Banner at right tackle moving forward.
Pittsburgh’s offensive line as a whole has improved over the past several weeks, but Okorafor is arguable the weakest link of the unit, and he needs to find a way to turn things around fast after the bye — assuming he’s even given that chance.
The Steelers have a handful of other players who are trending down after underwhelming performances in Week 6, but these four must quickly improve their game moving forward.
