Danielle Hunter, EDGE, Minnesota Vikings

Danielle Hunter is coming off two major seasons that saw his production shoot up after his initial breakout season in 2016. He is the best player on that Vikings defense. He is a pass-rushing specialist for this team. These are the types of players a franchise should prioritize keeping for their entire career but the Vikings are struggling with that currently.

Hunter is under contract but that has not kept him from requesting a trade. He wants a new deal that will pay him some major dollars. If Minnesota refuses then this player will likely try his best to find a new home and keep playing great football elsewhere for another NFL team that will pay him.

It will be interesting to see what the Vikings do as they hold all the cards. They have him under contract but he can refuse to show up at any time and get his pay docked. He wants to be rewarded for his efforts and that is why this player is on the list. It is not because he has issues producing or anything of that nature, but his contract status might not leave this franchise a choice.

They might need to send Hunter onto another team if they can’t get a deal done with him moving forward. His change of scenery will be forthcoming if this team doesn’t want to commit to this player, which they have not shown to this point.
