Tua Tagovailoa, Quarterback, Miami Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa is just entering his second year in the NFL, his first as the obvious starter for this Miami Dolphins team. He had some ups and downs during his rookie year but the team went back to Ryan Fitzpatrick a couple of times when this rookie struggled.

There were rumors that this team was ready to move on from this former Alabama product just after one season. That is a fairly quick turnaround for a player that was selected in the top five in the 2020 NFL Draft. He did have a catastrophic injury in college and has some injury issues at the pro level but nothing that should hinder his career too much.

One major factor with Tua and the Dolphins going forward will depend on one player, Deshaun Watson. The Texans have been trying to trade him away for obvious reasons and the latest rumors have the Dolphins being very aggressive in trade talks to acquire him.

Perhaps Tua would be going to the Texans in that deal unless another franchise wanted to try and get this player. The toughest thing for this guy is time. He has not had much opportunity to prove himself in the league just yet and shuffling him around via trade could affect his career going forward. Tua needs a better chance of proving himself and he will get a starting spot no matter if that’s in Miami or elsewhere.
