If the Steelers want to stay in the race for the AFC North and or wild card, they need to make some trades before this year’s trade deadline.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been struggling at a lot of positions this year. There are plenty of players that could be on the trade block before the deadline approaches. Pittsburgh is a team that tends to never give up and will always try to compete each and every year.

If they want to continue to do that for the 2021 season, they must make some important trades to help improve on some key positions. These trades would be great for the Steelers playoff hopes.

Left Guard- Jonah Jackson, Detriot Lions

With the Detroit Lions season essentially over, the Pittsburgh Steelers should think about offering up a trade for the Lions starting left guard, Jonah Jackson. Jackson stands at 6’4” and weighs 308lbs. He is just 24 years of age and comes from Media, Pennsylvania. He played college football at Rutgers and Ohio State. He then was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2020 draft.

With Kevin Dotson struggling, I believe Jonah Jackson could be a great replacement. The Detroit Lions average 103 yards on the ground a game which is significantly better than the Steelers at just 73.6 yards per game. Jackson has been a big part of the reason. This trade could turn the whole season around if Pittsburgh gets a deal in place for Jackson.

The Steelers found their identity last week against the Denver Broncos by keeping the ball out of Ben Roethlisberger’s hands and putting it in Najee Harris and the run game to dedicate the game. Roethlisberger only threw 25 times while Pittsburgh ran it a total of 35 times. 23 of those rushes were by Harris. If the Steelers can improve their line by the trade deadline, the season will be far from over.
