Predicting the 5 Steelers finalists 2022 Hall of Fame odds this year
By Andrew Falce
Steelers Heath Miller
Odds of making it: 10 percent
If you asked any Steelers fan, they would say that Heath Miller undoubtedly deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Few players could be as dynamic as a receiver and as effective of a blocker as Miller was in his prime. Even towards the end of his career, Miller was still a top-level blocker and was a safety valve for Ben Roethlisberger.
In terms of other tight ends that are eligible to go in, Miller is honestly the best option. Dallas Clark is the only comparable name, but Miller has the better overall stats. If he doesn’t make it this year, it won’t be due to a better option being available, as Miller seems like one of the top tight ends eligible to enter the Hall of Fame.
The issue for Miller is that Hall of Fame tight ends tend to have been elite receivers for their time. Even the names that don’t have elite numbers were some of the top receivers from their time when tight ends weren’t as much of a receiving threat. Miller, simply put, wasn’t that guy, despite his overall solid receiving production. He has the best odds of the players up this year, but they aren’t great due to the parameters of the position.
