With the NFL trade deadline quickly approaching, here are five potential trade candidates the Steelers have to consider.

While the Pittsburgh Steelers are rarely active at the trade deadline, this year could prove to be a time the team hopes to make a move. It will be interesting to see if the team is buying or selling, as their 3-3 record indicates they could be competitors while the quality of their offense says otherwise. Assuming the team will look to add to their roster though, here are five potential trade candidates the Steelers should consider.

5. Steelers must consider Chuma Edoga

The Steelers’ offensive line has seen some growth over the past few weeks, but they are still far from a complete unit. Even with Zach Banner likely to return at right tackle, adding a flexible and versatile lineman would be a boost right now. The New York Jets Chuma Edoga would be a perfect candidate to fill in as a depth tackle or even a depth interior linemen given his size.

Edoga was originally a starter with the Jets after he was drafted in the third round but has fallen out of favor with the organization. He has only been active for one game this season, and even then, he didn’t play. A change of scenery would be welcomed, and the Jets are not competing for anything this season. The Steelers may be able to get Edoga for a late-round pick.

If the Steelers were to land Edoga for a late-round pick, they would then have the flexibility and depth on their line that they need. Assuming Banner starts, the team could also ship out Chukwuma Okorafor for some draft picks to make up for what they lost. Edoga would be a cheap depth move that would further aid the talent and flexibility on this line.
