4. Steelers must consider Cameron Dantzler

The Vikings drafted Cameron Dantzler in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and he essentially started right away at cornerback for the team as a rookie. The addition of Patrick Peterson has left him without a significant role though, and despite looking ok in limited playing time, the Vikings appear to be ready to move on from the sophomore.

The Steelers don’t need another body on the surface. James Pierre is slowly developing while Arthur Maulet has become a stable run defender in the slot. That said, the team will likely be moving on from Joe Haden sooner than later. The team will need another outside cornerback, and Dantzler has the ability and talent to start in this league.

The benefit here is that Dantzler would have to be cheap at this point. While he has flashed some promise, the Vikings aren’t even trying to give him any playing time. The Steelers could get him for next to nothing and get him into the cornerback mix sooner than later. By next year, he could insert himself into the starting lineup.
