4 burning questions the Steelers must answer vs. the Browns
By Andrew Falce
2. Can the Steelers stop the run game?
While limiting the effectiveness of the tight end in the offense is important, the Steelers have to be all hands on deck to try and slow down this running offense. One could argue that the Browns have the best rushing attack in the NFL, minus the Ravens, who rely heavily on a mobile quarterback. No matter what back is running the ball, the Browns are finding a plethora of ways to win on the ground.
While Kareem Hunt will definitely not be around for this game, Nick Chubb might. Chubb is one of the best pure running backs in the league, as he has great athleticism and vision to exploit holes that the defense gives him. Even if he misses the game, D’Ernest Johnson showed against the Broncos that he can start and play effectively. He was one of the best-performing backs last week, and while not as talented as Chubb, he can still make a defense pay.
The Steelers defense has not been the same unit it was against the run over the past few seasons. While not a horrible unit, mediocre backs such as Alex Collins have found ways to play well against this defense. Any running back the Browns rely on this season will be better than that. This defense has to find a way to limit this rushing attack if they want to have any shot at winning this week.
