5. Urban Meyer, Jacksonville Jaguars

Urban Meyer might not go winless during his NFL tenure as a Head Coach but his time in Jacksonville will not be remembered as one of success. There was the big scandal of him skipping the team flight only to dance with girls at his family establishment.

Other than that major off-the-field issue, this coach has not been able to handle the college-to-professional leap. Many of these extremely successful college coaches cannot take that with them to the NFL level. Even Nick Saban couldn’t accomplish that during his short stint with the Miami Dolphins.

Meyer has not been good and he seems out of place at this level. Expect him to be let go at some point this season as the Jaguars will want to start fresh with another person leading the team. Even though he will be fired from an NFL club, Meyer will go on to be rumored to many open college coaching positions as soon as the news comes out.

This was just another example of how these college coaches are better off where they are. The NFL is the pinnacle of coaching and many strive to get there one day. But even after all their success and drive to reach that level, many of them just don’t work out. Most are just good college football coaches and that isn’t a bad thing.
